5 Super Easy Steps To Knowing If You Have Found The Right Niche

Finding Your Niche Is Easier Than You Think Finding your niche can actually be a pretty easy and less daunting process as it seems.

The truth is that you don't need to know your exact niche right of the jump you just need to start writing. But don't just write about anything write about your generalized subject matter.

Your generalized subject matter is a general topic that you know you will eventually write about but not something you will write about all the time.

But what do you start writing about because you don't know your niche yet?

First, you should understand why you need a niche and why you can't or shouldn't just write about everything under the sun.

You eventually need a niche that is well defined because It's how people find you. Say you are a plumber, well if you're a plumber your blog should feature facts about plumbing, DIY fixes when to call a plumber, etc. Well, the same thing goes for you and your blog.

So let's brainstorm some ways you can find a subject matter to write about.

Step 1: What do you love?

I know this is a basic concept but many people don't understand the true meaning of loving something.

Love something means its something you are passionate about.

You could talk about it in your sleep.

Something that you know or/are learning about that you generally love or enjoy researching.

The way I know I love social media marketing and business a plan is because I like activities that require steps to solving problems. Social media marketing solves a lot of problems but mainly it introduces someone to something to say a device and that device solves their common problem.

Another thing is I could spend all day researching this topic and constantly learn it without being bored.

In most of my business classes, I am at the top of my classes because it's a topic I am truly passionate about.

Another thing I am super passionate about is budgeting and having a plan.

This is where my help with small businesses comes in.

With my knowledge of budgeting and strategic planning, I am able to create, clear, and cohesive business plans that allow people to turn into a profitable blog.

Step 2: Start Writing With Purpose

You are brilliantly building content with a purpose. Once you have figured out what you love its time to start trying to write about it to see if its something you could write for a long time and what you could write about the short term. To figure out what to write about you should take your most passionate subject and place it in the middle of your page. This is your subject matter. Now draw a circle around it. Now think about sub-subjects that are related to that subject and draw a circle around that. Now connect those ideas to your main circle. Now brainstorm for about 15-20 minutes and think about everything under those ideas that you can make content on. Try and get 5-6 ideas under each of those circles. If you were able to fill up the whole page, then that's a good scene you've picked the right subject if not you need to restart.

Step 3: Do some research on your competition. Do some research on your main topic. This should be a topic or career path that is widely known and easy to research. You should be able to find core content creators within that community to follow. Follow them. Research their profiles, their followers, and their common interests. Do their goals align with theirs? Who are their customers? How are they performing? Can you duplicate their success but bring your own voice and create your own content? By asking all of these questions you can determine if this a good subject for you to write about.

Take it a step further by doing market research, google it, was it easy to find or did you have to dig a little?

If you have to dig a little that's good that means its narrow enough, but also beware if you had to REALLY dig maybe not so many people are searching the information so you should go back to the drawing board. If there's way too much information you should all revisit the drawing board because it might be too hard to stand out if too many people are doing it. Unless you have the drive and ambition to be REALLY different from your competition I wouldn't recommend going into a niche that is common because chances are its too hard to compete in. You should try to narrow your niche down as little as you can. Just know your niche may change a few times your first couple of weeks are you are figuring out your writing sweet spot. 4) Your Sweet Spot You'll know when you've hit that sweet spot with you can all of a sudden just feed out information about that topic. That topic should be one of your common circle topics, but not your main topic. If that makes sense. Let's look at it in a different view so we can understand. Say you have a main topic and your teacher wants you to choose something that falls under that main topic to write a paper about. Now you have a niche. You'll know when you find that niche because it will just make sense to you. I mean you understand it to a point where if someone asks you a question about it you automatically know the answer to it or can quickly find it. You are helpful and full of knowledge. One way to know if you've hit your sweet spot is by having a friend send you a question and you answer it and get their personal feedback but this is only helpful if you know someone in the same niche. If you don't know anyone in your niche yet just know that as you form connections you may change perceptive on things and you may change your niche, and that's okay.

5) Finally, people are reacting to your content.

So now that you've found that sweet spot you are ready to show the world. The way they react should be your last determination if this is where you should be or not. Are people finding your information helpful and sharing it? Are people commenting and showing some love towards your post? Is your website get more views? If people are truly interested in your topic they will be commenting with you and sharing your information, but just know this takes a while. This isn't something that happens overnight. I've changed my niche quite a few times united I realized that a creative marketing blog is what I am going for. Now that we have narrowed down your niche I cant wait to see your amazing content. Please comment on your website information below so I can check it out. And keep coming back for more. Thank you.
